Nora King

Nora grew up the daughter of a Baptist pastor. Like the believers of Ephesus, she had "not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost". Because of a strong desire to know the Lord, she discovered the mighty baptism in the Holy Spirit, and was filled with the Spirit in 1976 - an event that drastically changed her life.

As a young girl, Nora observed in herself and other Christians she was acquainted with, a shallowness in their relationship with the Lord. At that time, an inward decision was made that she would see if it were possible to have a deeper, more intimate relationship with God. Also, she developed an attitude that "there has got to be more to being a Christian than a once-a-week commitment." She strongly believes that it was through this attitude that God made an open door in her life to cause her to continue on and discover that there is so much more!

Nora's husband, Ed, received God's call into the ministry after eight years of marriage. At first, Nora was not in support of this, as she knew well the life of a minister’s family. Soon, she knew that God’s hand was on her husband and later realized that there was a call into the ministry on her own life as well. She was ordained in 1985 by Lester Sumrall. Now God uses them together as a ministry team.

Ed and Nora founded Redemption Church International in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1978, where Nora is Co-Pastor. This local church is a strong, thriving New Testament church with special emphasis on harvesting the world, training each believer to use their influence for Christ Jesus, and raising up leaders in the Body of Christ.

Nora holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Zoe University and has spent many years in intense study on Christian and secular leadership principles.

She has traveled in the United States and in foreign countries and has ministered God’s love and seen salvation, the baptism of the Holy Spirit and healings come to many people.

As Nora ministers the Word with boldness and compassion, the gifts of the Spirit flow, physical and emotional healings occur, and the captives are set free from the powers of darkness.
